Saturday, September 30, hundreds of supporters will gather at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex for Your Choice Resource Center’s 33rd Walk for Life, 4th 5K Run for Life, and 1st Littles for Life toddler trot. Registration and Prayer Walk will be floating from 8-10 a.m. Registration for the Run begins at 8 a.m. with the race beginning at 9 a.m. Registration for the Littles begins at 8 a.m. with the first heat beginning at 9:50 a.m. Chick-fil-A coupons will be available for all sponsored walkers, runners, and littles. Funds raised are used to provide a variety of free services to the community including pregnancy testing, options education, limited ultrasounds, parenting classes, limited STI testing for local students, and more. Funds raised, also, keep our Medical Mobile Unit on the road in the surrounding communities. All services are FREE OF CHARGE! Once walkers raise $150 or more in pledges, they are eligible to receive a free Walk for Life T-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to adults, teens, and children who raise the most money and who have the most sponsors. Runners will receive a long-sleeved T-shirt with their online registration fee. The top 3 (both male & female) Race winners for each age category (listed on our website) will receive a custom Run for Life medal. The top overall male and female runners will receive Chick-fil-a for a year. Runners must register online and are encouraged to fundraise online, as well. Walkers may also register and fundraise online; however, we have brochures and forms available at the Center. You can also sponsor walkers and runners online; just go to www.friendsofycrc.org for instructions. If participants are unable to walk on September 30, they may walk at another time and bring contributions to the Center at a later date. All contributions to Your Choice Resource Center are tax-deductible and will remain in the local community.
