This months Hope blog features an excerpt from Maverick City Music from their Jubilee Plan.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed. He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come….” (Isaiah 61:1-2 NLT)
This reference is prophesying a proclamation of the Good News and the very reason why Jesus came and ultimately what His sacrifice on the cross will mean for mankind. Because of the victory that was won on the cross, with Jesus we can now experience true freedom in our day to day.
With Jesus, we can know what real freedom looks like. We don’t have to stay bound by what’s holding us captive. All we have to do is surrender our will to His and believe that freedom that He purchased is paid in full and already ours.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for this opportunity to find true freedom that can only be found in You. May I never forget why You came to Earth and may I always walk in the victory that you purchased for me.
